Windward Reports merges XML, SQL or custom database connectivity with a MS Word report template. It pulls the data from your specified source into Word. This creates a report that can be made into a number of formats including PDF, RTF, HTML, TXT or e-mail format.
The documentation is very well written, and for those of us who are still new to using a Java-based server engine - was extremely easy to get setup and started.
Once setup, the user side is phenom! The users simply create a report template in Word (that they already know how to do), and all the "behind the scenes" geek work is done for them.
